CSS Colour Names
More properly referred to as X11 Colour Keywords these colour names can
be used when formatting with Cascading Style Sheets. X11 is is a networking
and display protocol originated at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
in September 1987 and most of these
colours were created as part of that system.
A big advantage of using these colour names is that you might find it easier to remember that your preferred colour for the background of a page is aliceblue instead of remembering the hexadecimal code #f0f8ff.
Most of these colours should be recognised by most browsers. The colour gray and all variants should be recognised if spelled grey.
