Numbering Options

You can change the way the numbering appears in an Ordered list. Rather than using 1., 2., 3... you can have Roman numeral numbering, or even letters.

To change the numbering style add the type attribute to the <ol> tag, like this:

<ol type="I">

This will change the numbering to capital Roman numerals.

<ol type="i">

This will change the numbering to lower-case Roman numerals.

<ol type="A">

This will change the numbering to capital letters.

<ol type="a">

This will change the numbering to lower case letters.

<ol type="I">
<li>First item in list.</li>
<li>Second item in list.</li>
<li>Last item in list.</li>
</ol>

An ordered list with type="I" would look like this:

  1. First item in list.
  2. Second item in list.
  3. Last item in list.

Bullet Options

You can change the type of bullets used in an Unordered list.

To change the bullet style add the type attribute to the <ul> tag, like this:

<ul type="circle">

This will change the bullets to circles.

<ul type="square">

This will change the bullets to squares.

<ul type="square">
<li>First item in list.</li>
<li>Second item in list.</li>
<li>Last item in list.</li>
</ul>

An unordered list with type="square" would look like this:

  • First item in list.
  • Second item in list.
  • Last item in list.
